Storage type

ArtDrive offers different types of storage to cater to various needs and keep costs extremely efficient.

• Drive - Regular storage
• Archive - Slower storage, suitable for infrequently accessed data.
• Frozen - Non instantly accessible storage, good for files that are non very frequently accessed and are likely to be needed only occasionally. Data retrieval may be transferred from the storage or a delay of up to several hours may occur.

RndSeed

Random text to improve key generation security.

Device sync mode

• Offload - Transfers data from the device to the target destination to free up space on the device. Perfect for cameras.
• Mirror - Keeps the device and the target destination in sync by duplicating data.
• Backup - Creates a backup of the device data to the target destination without affecting the original data on the device.

Internal path

The internal path specifies the location within the storage device where data is stored or accessed.

For example, if the internal path is set to /photos, all data will be stored or accessed within the photos directory of the storage device.

External path

Location on destination storage where data is stored or accessed.

If "Group data" is enabled, the external path will include subdirectories based on the upload date, organizing files accordingly.

You can transfer data into the ArtDrive Cloud, a PC running the ArtDrive client, or a storage device running Linux with ArtDrive for NAS.

Group data by upload date and device

When this option is enabled, the external path will include subdirectories based on the upload date and the device from which the data originated. This helps in organizing files more efficiently and makes it easier to locate specific data.

You can provide device tag, such a camera model, during the sd card configuration.

User

The user section allows you to specify the user associated with the storage device.

Sidebar categories

The left sidebar groups your content into categories: Home, My Drive, Favorites, Shared, People, Recycle bin, Devices, Recent, Apps and Settings.

Every category except Home, My Drive and Settings can be hidden or shown from the sidebar, and the whole list can be reordered to match how you work.

Color tags

Files and folders can be labeled with one of 7 colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, gray) from the right-click menu or from the file preview. Tags help you spot related items at a glance.

The color filter in the toolbar narrows the current folder down to items with a specific tag, and selecting multiple tagged items shows their shared tag directly in the selection toolbar.

File preview & supported formats

Clicking a file opens a preview without downloading it first. ArtDrive recognizes and shows dedicated icons or thumbnails for:

• Camera RAW formats: DNG, CR2, CR3, NEF, ORF, RAW, RW2, ARW, SRW, SRF, SR2, PEF and more.
• Design files: Photoshop (PSD), Illustrator (AI), InDesign (INDD), Adobe XD, and Affinity Designer / Photo / Publisher.
• Audio (MP3, FLAC, WAV) and video (MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, AVI and other common containers).
• Fonts, archives (ZIP, RAR) and common code/text formats.

Finding files

The search box in the top bar filters the folder you currently have open by file name. It's a quick way to jump to a file without browsing through subfolders; searching across your entire drive at once is on the roadmap.

Uploading & checking space

The upload button accepts both files and whole folders, and shows live progress for every transfer in the transfers panel.

Right-clicking a folder and choosing the space calculator tool shows exactly how much storage that folder and its contents are using.

Music player

The built-in player supports shuffle, adjustable playback speed, volume control and quick seeking, and stays available in a compact bar while you keep browsing your files.

Playback across devices

What you're playing is shared with your other signed-in devices in real time. Opening the "Music devices" panel shows every device that's currently online, what it's playing and its playback position, so you can pick up playback from wherever you left off.

Lyrics editor

The lyrics editor lets you time-sync lyrics to a track: import plain text or a previously exported JSON file, then tap through each line while the song plays to record its start and end time. Playback speed can be slowed down while timing lines, and the result can be exported as JSON or saved to your account.

In-app notifications

ArtDrive shows short-lived toast notifications for background events, such as a track starting to play or the result of a long-running action, without interrupting what you're doing.

Light & dark skin

The skin toggle in the top bar switches the whole interface between a light and a dark theme.

Sidebar preferences

Which sidebar categories are visible, and in what order, is saved per account and applied wherever you sign in.

Music behavior

You can set how much of a track has to play before pressing "previous" restarts the current song instead of skipping back to the last one, and toggle background blur effects used by the player's interface.

Managing your devices

Every browser or app you sign in from is registered as a device, so you can see all of them from the Devices category, along with live status such as whether it's currently online and, where available, its battery level.

What's still in progress

A few features are visible in the interface but not fully wired up yet, including public share links, creating/extracting archives from the toolbar, and some of the specialized editors. The platforms page tracks the detailed status of every feature per platform.
